Reflections of the past and hopes for the future in 2019
The last several months of 2018 have been challenging. My health confined me, and for a while it was comforting to rest up and recuperate. It’s difficult, well almost impossible to be inspired when I’m feeling ill and in pain. But I am beginning to feel more able now, and no longer wish to be in confinement. It is time to throw back the curtains and once again say “Hello World!”
Working with limitations can at times be frustrating, but rather than railing against them, I have to learn to go with the flow. I don’t always get it right though. So, yes, I have been quiet, but it was necessary. Now though, my studio beckons and I’m beginning to feel the urge to spread the paint and let it flow.
Someone asked me what my plans were for the new year of 2019. My answer was simple - I plan to follow my heart as the year unfolds. Of course, I have ideas I want to develop and plan to experiment and try out different techniques, but above all, I want to enjoy the journey. At times I have taken myself a bit too seriously, to my own detriment, so this year I’m simply following my joy.
Have a wonderful 2019 and I hope it brings you all that you wish for!
